About

Hello my name is Joy.  I specialize in end of life support for children and their families.

I feel honored to help families facilitate communication and be a supportive role in the families transition during an incredibly difficult time.  I am a trained Death Doula, a Reiki practitioner and Ordained minister.

Services

End of Life Support

For Families

Provide empathetic and spiritual support to those navigating end of life.  For children, this looks like a friend and confidant who is present and seeks out objectively what about this life that has made them happiest.

Reiki

Reiki is a calm and soothing energy healing that often relieves anxiety and provides the patient with quiet time to just be present with loving energy.

Conversations

Facilitating conversations about the impending death of a loved one with family members who need that structure and direction for what steps to take next.

Legacy Projects

Working with either the patient or family members, I can help facilitate a record of this precious time at the end of life.

My name is Joy and I began my death doula journey in the summer of 2024.  I received a certificate of completion from Going with Grace and began volunteering with hospice at MJHS.  I am an advocate for death education and compassionate end of life care.  Having navigated many deaths from a young age, I strongly believe in the services having a death doula at the end of life provides. We are joined in humanity by two universal commonalities, life and death.  It is natural to need help navigating both.   I believe we are all death doulas and have the capacity to help each other in the most difficult of times.  I feel called to help families navigate difficult conversations and offer the gift of open and safe communication..  Those of us who have losses understand that grief is the representation of the love we have lost.  Embracing it can feel difficult if not impossible.  Having someone who can be a guide on the path helps to lighten the way.
